About Dementia web
Dementia web is an all-age dementia information resource for the UK. It aims to help people with dementia, their carers and health professionals find empowering information about dementia and the support and care services available to them in the UK.
The Organisations Behind Dementia web
Dementia web is owned and managed by Guideposts Trust Registered Charity Number 272619. Guideposts established a Dementia Information Service in 2003 to meet the needs of carers looking after someone with dementia at home. From this a web based information service called Dementia web was started in 2005.
Dementia web was set up as a collaborative project by the Oxfordshire Dementia Forum who were also looking to establish a local web based service for carers.
The members of the forum are Alzheimer’s Society, Age UK (Oxfordshire), Specal, The Clive Project (now known as Young Dementia UK) and Guideposts.
Guideposts Trust wishes to acknowledge the input the Oxfordshire Dementia Forum had in the development of Dementia web.
Dementia web is essentially a dementia web portal for the UK with a growing information base of more localised information by counties. Providing summary information about dementia, local support services, available help and care options, giving details about how to access this support and help. It is a gateway to enable you to access the organisations, groups or specific individuals that can help you, as well as the wide and large amount of detailed information available on the Internet about all aspects of dementia and dementia care.
The Dementia web site has been funded and is managed by Guideposts. Dementia web is maintained by Guideposts. Please see our Disclaimer and Copyright information page.
